ABOUT SHEBNEM
Shebnem is a well established, professional Turkish belly dancer, instructor and choreographer specialising in modern and traditional styles of Turkish Belly Dance.
Since her childhood Shebnem was very much involved in belly dancing. Being Turkish she was born into the belly dance culture and found herself performing every chance she had.
In previous years in Turkey, she worked as a news reader on a local tv channel and as a radio dj on a national radio station as well as doing some theatrical work after studying drama at an art school in her home town Istanbul.
She has been living in England since 2000. Here, she went to The Academy of Contemprary Music studying singing and dancing where she also performed in a band called
De-ja-vu. She also took a part in a musical which once again put her in the spotlight.
Shebnem believes that belly dance is a very special way of expressing yourself and it is an art form that brings out the beauty and the delicasy of women.
In England she has been performing at special events and running belly dance classes in various towns and health clubs and giving one to one private tuition for everyone who is interested in the beautiful and sensual way of belly dance and who likes to have fun as well as keeping fit.
